news...

6/12/2008 Update on Tinkerbelle:  Tinkerbelle, now known as Patty, has been adopted! Her surgery has been scheduled and she is settling into her new home nicely. We are so happy for her!  We have started a special needs fund for animals who need expensive treatments.  Thank you to everyone who most generously donated to Tinkerbell’s Fund. Her life has turned around from the brink of death to an opportunity to live many more years in good health, in a most happy home.

Update on shelter project:  Today volunteers filled 35 bags of trash, weeds and brush from the shelter grounds and that’s just the tip of the iceberg! We would like to thank the four students who did their community service. They worked very hard and did a great job.  There is still much work to be done but the yard looks much better already. Volunteers will be working in the yard as an ongoing project and helpers are appreciated.  All members of Brooklyn Animal Shelter have already signed waivers but all others must sign waivers before being permitted to work. Volunteers under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the waiver. Please call Bev to register to if you would like to volunteer to help with the project.  216 459-2736.

5/12/2008 Our Ice House Tavern Benefit scheduled for June 21st has been cancelled due to a conflict with the recently scheduled Brooklyn Relay for Life on the same date
